Black Salt | ½ tsp |
Cardamom Powder | ¼ tsp (optional) |
Water | 2½ to 3 cups |
👩🍳 Method: Step-by-Step Kokum Sharbat

Step 1: Soak the Kokum
Wash kokum thoroughly.
Soak it in 1 cup warm water for 3–4 hours (or overnight) to soften.
Step 2: Prepare the Extract
After soaking, mash or blend the kokum.
Strain the pulp using a sieve to get a thick extract.
Step 3: Add Sweetener and Spices
Mix in grated jaggery or sugar to the kokum extract.
Add black salt, cumin powder, and cardamom powder.
Stir well until everything dissolves.
Step 4: Dilute and Chill
Add 1½ to 2 cups of cold water.
Mix and adjust sweetness or tanginess to your taste.
Step 5: Serve
Pour into a glass filled with ice cubes.
Garnish with a mint leaf or a pinch of roasted jeera powder on top.
